Toolkit for Cooperative, Collective, & Collaborative Cultural Work co-published by Institute for Expanded Research and Press Press – Based on two workshops that gathered Baltimore-based cultural organizers, artists, musicians, and community-oriented practitioners, the project explores the challenges of collective cultural work and shares processes, advice, and resources on overcoming various cultural, financial, and structural obstacles. In centering collective working methods that are so counter to the ideologies and frameworks that are encountered daily in a capitalist society, Toolkit aims to honor and embrace our fundamental interconnectivity and interdependence as human beings.

Blobwork: Vision of Contemporary Art Practice & Engagement by Kimi Hanauer – Blobworks, initiatives guided by what I call the blob-engagement paradigm, come alive through the intimate networks of relationships which activate them. The blob can be tentatively defined as: “…a form that is in constant change and interaction with its specific site, a structure that transforms and moves between disciplines and spaces, all the while interacting and reacting with its audience…” This theoretical framework emerged from my years as an artist-in-residence at Penthouse, an experimental art and music venue located on the top floor of the Copycat Building, a warehouse occupied by artists and musicians in Baltimore, Maryland where I lived from 2012-2016.
